A New Home. A Powerful New Partnership.

An exciting new era for the Photographic Resource Center is now underway, inaugurated through a resident partnership with Lesley University College of Art and Design (LUCAD)!

In addition to exciting new possibilities, the PRC also now has offices in the vibrant and stimulating environment of the new LUCAD building, the Lunder Art Center, in Porter Square, Cambridge.

Both we and LUCAD look forward to growing our relationship, including hosting lectures, Nights at the PRC work-sharing events and more in LUCAD’s state of the art classrooms as well as in other local nonprofit facilities. We also foresee great opportunities to collaborate with LUCAD’s dynamic photography department, including their BFA and MFA programs, whose faculty and students have long been involved with the PRC as well as Lesley’s esteemed galleries and exhibitions.

In addition, we intend to host exhibitions in satellite spaces in and around Greater Boston, including our annual student and juried shows plus collaborative and pop-up shows. Have space and ideas? Let us know!

Although our current situation does not allow for a dedicated gallery or for us to unpack the library, we continue to explore our options and opportunities in those areas.

The move to LUCAD would not have been possible without extensive help from the Board members and volunteers who packed up 832 Commonwealth Avenue and our storage in prep for the July move. Thanks to volunteers Carol Parker, Dick Koolish, Austin Wertheimer, Diane Sheridan, and Susan, Nick and David Sturman,  as well as board President John Bunzick, board members Jen Barrows, Eric Nichols, Suzanne Revy, and David Weinberg.

We especially thank Lesley University and their Board of Trustees, Lesley University President Jeff Weiss, Dean of the College of Art and Design Richard Zauft, Dean Emeritus Stan Trecker (who is also a former PRC Executive Director), and PRC Acting Executive Director Bruce Myren. Without their vision and commitment, our resident partnership with LUCAD would never have happened.
