Volunteering

Be an integral part of your favorite arts nonprofit! There are a number of volunteer opportunities available at the PRC’s programs and events year-round, such as lectures and exhibit-opening receptions. If you can help with any of the following, contact volunteer@prcboston.org and let us know what you’re thinking.

Photo inventory The PRC owns hundreds of photos that we sell to raise funds to support our programs. Help us update the inventory, including adding the images of a substantial new donation. The volunteer gets to see lots of amazing artwork up close. (At our office; ongoing.)

“PRC Nights” coordinator This volunteer position takes care of the logistics for our monthly Nights program. Set the date, make sure the venue is set, coordinate with the hosts and members who are showing, pick up the snacks, and make sure we clean up afterwards. We typically have other volunteers on the night of the event. (Can be done remotely, except the night of the event.)

eCommerce help We set up a new ecommerce portion of our website, but we need to make some fixes to it. If you know Click & Pledge and Woo Commerce, and maybe some Sales Force, we could use your help. (At our office, mostly.)

Membership processing Membership renewals and donations come in regularly online and through the mail. Help us update our database and mail out membership cards. (At our office, ongoing.)

Event volunteers Assist with setting up/cleaning up, bartending, serving food, greeting guests, handing out/collecting surveys, checking in attendees, and tracking audience numbers.

Event photographers Take pictures at events. The photos are posted on the PRC’s Flickr, and the photographer receives proper photo credit in all instances.

I’m not sure yet If you are interested in helping, but aren’t sure how yet, just let us know at volunteer@prcboston.org or call 617.975.0600 and we’ll keep you informed of what we need.

Internships

Learn firsthand the inner workings of a small nonprofit visual arts institution. The PRC offers unpaid internships to those with an interest in photography, visual arts, exhibitions, and/or arts administration. Undergraduate and graduate students as well as recent graduates are encouraged to apply. General internship duties include (but are not limited to) daily office tasks, database maintenance, help with exhibitions, preparation for our annual fundraising event, monitoring the gallery, assisting with opening receptions, lectures, and special events. Interns also write book and exhibition reviews for the PRC’s website.
