William E. Parker straddled the worlds of photography and art history and was known for his exploration of Jungian philosophy.  Parker was Professor of art and the history of photography at the University of Connecticut Storrs from 1969 to 1994. Before coming to UConn, he worked at Pratt Institute, Parsons School of Design, and Rhode Island School of Design.  Parker was a lifetime member of the National Society for Photographic Education and the recipient of two NEA fellowships.  His work honors his legacy and is housed in major museums nationwide.

This image was from his then recent series titled "The Green Man," in which he delved into ideas of male fertility and earth imagery.  This striking photogravure print was produced by the Renaissance Press under the guidance of the artist.
